The Research Chair is dedicated to exploring the main options for the geological storage of CO₂ in the province of Québec, Canada. The Chair will address the issue of Québec’s CO₂ storage capacity and how the province can contribute to the international assessment of CCS technology.

The goals are to assess Québec’s CO₂ storage capacity, test a few sites for their CO₂ retention potential after injection, and create provincial expertise in the field of CCS.
